One of the things I like about Sjoestedt is that she starts
right out saying that in looking at Celtic (Irish) mythology,
"one must free oneself from conceptions borrowed from outside."
She wants us to just pay attention to what the texts tell us:
"It is proper to believe the evidence they have left us...",
despite the fact that "the mythographers of mediŠval Ireland
have drawn a picture of Celtic paganism so different from what
we know, or think we know, of Indo-European paganism that it
at first arouses suspicion."
