Following a widescale outage on national backbone links detailed in ticket
http://www.hea.net/tickets/20050228-9 HEAnet are making urgent topology
changes to backup UBR links to increase resilience in the event of such an
New circuits of up to 50Mbps ATM UBR will be deployed between Cork-Dublin,
Limerick-Dublin and Galway-Dublin from 09:00-10:00 during the maintenance
window on 30/3/05.
Configuration work is not expected to be service-affecting. The changes
themselves will improve resilience on the national backbone.
20050329 16:11 AH Prepare configurations and change plan, issue ticket.
20050330 11:01 AH IPv4 and multicast configuration deployed on all three
links between 09:00 and 10:06, routing tested and verified and network
management systems and DNS updated. Deployment of IPv6 on these links is
dependent on testlab verification of ISIS metrics.
HEAnet will monitor for one week.
