me. I strongly suspect that there must be some corruption in the text, but
without seeing the MS it's difficult to say where."
Below is the text of an email I received from TCD. I have ordered a copy of
the first MS referred to as this was not edited by Meyer. Is there anywhere
I can post a scan so that the list members can enlarge and peruse it when I
receive the MS copy?
"Dear Mr Smith
Further to your correspondence with Dr Meehan.
I have checked our catalogue of Irish manuscripts and find a reference to
Bricin in TCD MS 1289 (former shelf mark H.1.15) described as follows;
'Prophecy of St Briccini: bai Briccini thuama drecain (prose)' (this occurs
on p940 of the manuscript). However there is an entry in TCD MS 1287 (former
shelf mark H.1.13)which seems to match more accurately with your request.
for p 356 of that manuscript reads '"Baile" or "vision" of St Bricini, abbot
of Tuam Drecan ...See O'Curry, MS Materials p 418...Also in Harl.5280.' If
this helps you to identify the item you need we can proceed with your order.
