A resourceful and talented young web designer, Jared White,
has volunteered to put my open-ended collection of "Quotes
from Early Irish Literature"* up on the Internet. It should
be public in a week or two.
Meanwhile, here is another item I just added:
In "Tochmarc Étaíne", Eochaid and Midir are both in love with
Étaín. When Midir, who is furious, confronts Eochaid, the
"Ní barae fri búire dait-siu ón."
(not * anger/hostility * against * rage * for you * that)
"You won't get wrath in return for rage."
In other words, "Settle down, I'm going to be reasonable."
* "Quotes from Early Irish Literature" is fine as a subtitle,
but it's going to need a snappier main title, preferable
something short in OI that a novice might pronounce correctly
from the spelling. If you have a great idea...
