Dhá fhocal atá ann, mar atá sa Ghaeilge fós. An méid seo as FGB:

1. lann - thin plate, lamina; (fish) scale; blade
2. lann - land, ground, site; building, house, church

Tá gaol ag an dara ceann le "llan" i mBreatnais ("Llanfair-gogoch",
etc.) agus le "land" i mBéarla. Níl mé cinnte faoin gcéad cheann.
