Due to new feature set available in JUNOS 6.3R1.3 we have decided to
upgrade our NYC router. This has had to be rescheduled due to a number of
problems with the last upgrade. This issues are not expected to recur.
Due to redundant nature of Juniper Routing Engines it is hoped that all
work can proceed without outages, however a number of brief BGP flaps are
possible with all peers during the maintenance window.
20040513 09:35 BN Opened this ticket to replace 20040506-4 to start with a
clean slate after previous upgrade issues. Software will be uploaded to
the routing engines and reboots will go ahead on the morning of Wednesday
20040519 09:38 BN Same problem has been encountered as with 20040506-4.
Maintenance not successful. Now discussing possible options with Lan
20040519 13:06 BN Juniper are once again replacing the faulty Routing
Engine. New upgrade date will be set once this equipment is in place. No
outages are expected during the equipment swap.
20040519 17:38 BN New RE is in place. Further investigations are needed
before upgrade will be re-attempted.
20040701 11:28 BN Juniper have reported the fault on this RE and they are
reasonably sure we should not see the same issue again. We are attempting
an upgrade on Wednesday 7th July under ticket 20040701-2.
