>What is the "Stone of Scone"?
Correct me if I'm wrong here. The Stone of Scone is an inaugural stone that
featured in the ceremonies that confirmed a new king of the Dál Riada, and
in later years at the coronation of a new king of Scotland.
If the stone is an original symbol of the sovereignty of the Dál Riada, and
their power in Ireland was broken at the Battle of Mag Rath, then it would
make sense to transport it 'cen airiugad' to their Scottish territories.
I know that other peoples had objects that legitimized the ruler, (I believe
one was a whitethorn tree), but I don't know if any of those objects were
ever personified to the extent that they could be refered to as 'in
Érennach' or 'fer do Gaídelaib'.
