In order to perform futher tests on the new Gigabit National Backbone
EsatBT will be taking one leg per day out of service.
No sites will lose connectivity, however there will be a loss of resiliency
and possible minor increased latency during the testing. EsatBT have
assured us that if there are any problems with the other GE circuits
during this time then the circuit being tested will be immediately
released back into service.
20040126 10:27 BN Received confirmation form EsatBT that they are ready to
test the circuits. The schedule is as follows:
27th January: Brooklawn House - Cork GE @ 14:00
28th January: Cork - Limerick GE
29th January: Limerick - Galway GE
Each test will take roughly three hours.
20040127 16:31 JW Esat called to confirm the testing of Cork-BH line is
finished. Esat will provide the testing results at a later stage.
20040127 17:13 BN BH-Cork line came back after testing. Cork - Limerick
testing will go ahead on 28th Jan as per schedule.
20040128 17:00 BN Cork - Limerick testing complete. Limerick - Galway
testing will go ahead 29th Jan at 12:30.
