I believe Modern Irish editions are far more urgently required, for the
sake of our language, our community and the education of the next
generation, than mere translations into English (produced, as usual, more
to benefit the globalized academic markets or the popular 'pulp' reading
markets, neither of which is much interested in serving real language
speakers at either academic or popular level).
Is dóigh liomsa gur cheart ceangal a chur ar scoláirí agus ar institiúidí
sin a gheibheann airgeadú ó cháiníocthóirí na hÉireann agus iad i mbun a
dtaighde ar sheanlámhscríbhinní leagan Gaeilge a fhoilsiú in éineacht leis
an leagan Béarla i gcónaí (gan eisceacht ar bith).
