Schemas offer a LOT more flexibility than DTDs in terms of definite the
elements and attributes in your data.

Search for DTD at xml.com and you might find some articles that compare the
two. I've read them somewhere, but forget now. Even some introductory XML
books will show you how to to DTDs and Schemas, describing the differences
in terms of syntax (which is different), function, and such.
