I was wondering if you could point me into some known direction,
I am writing a type of business program.
What I would like to do is allow the user to design their own data entry
forms and have the data finish up in XML.
I have looked at XFORMs but the precise positioning of fields on the screen
is limited so I need something that works like visual basic where TOP, LEFT
WIDTH and HEIGHT are properties of the GUI screen objects.
I aim to write a system where the XML data structure is described by the
user- I can do this
A Data entry screen is created for this XML data structure - I do not have a
concept for how to do this and XFORMS is inadequate as objects can not be
dragged and placed precisely.
I have written my own xml parser in C++ so I can make what is needed to put
this structure together.
I do not intend to use a browser but will make my own GUI Forms creator and
runner. like in MS Access.
This program should design an XML data structure as XML nodes with
attributes but no text nodes.
Then design a form which allows the user to enter the TEXT nodes and save
the data as an XML String.
There are three XML Strings here
The XML with attributes and no TEXT Nodes
The XML that describes the forms entry with attributes like TOP, LEFT etc
and then the result string after data entry which is an XML string with TEXT
Any ideas or hints would be most appreciated
