Postdoctoral Position in Aquatic Flow Cytometry

A postdoctoral position is now open to work at the J.J .MacIsaac
Facility for Individual Particle Analysis of Bigelow Laboratory.
Current research areas in our lab include interactions between
bacteria and phytoplankton, image analysis algorithm development,
marine bacterial activity, and interactions between plankton
community structure and brown tide (Aureococcus) bloom initiation.
The individual must have interest in developing single-cell methods,
using a new Cytomation flow cytometer/cell sorter, for application to
biological oceanographic problems.  Participation in field work
(including research cruises) is required.  Completed Ph.D. in
biological oceanography, phycology, microbiology, or related field
required.  This position is for 2 years, preferably starting prior to
June 2001.  Please send letter of application describing your future
