Unfortunately I think you're out of luck. The XSLT documentation I've read
has made a big point of the fact that XSLT transforms a *tree* into a
*tree*, not an XML document into an XML document.

Subject: Simple question about preserving XML in XSL output
I'm trying to find a way to use XSL to copy a fragment of an XML source doc
to an output document so that the outputted fragment is not interpreted by a
parser run against the output doc. I thought there was a simple technique,
but so far it has not jumped out at me. Help is appreciated.
