Yes, if you were using Active Server Pages, you could create an object
variable in VBScript that would contain the XML tree. You would manipulate
that tree -- e.g., by adding or updating nodes -- and then save the tree to
a .xml file when ready.

Subject: XML to store session variables ??
Can we use XML to store session variables?
The situation is like this:
We have an application (currently in VB-DOS and will be ported to Web). It
has large number of screens which come one by one. User enters data (related
to Insurance policy) in these screens. All these input are stored in (in
current application) some table-variables. None of the tables (these are
local btrieve tables in current application) are updated till user reaches
the last screen (or some times at some logical point).
In the ported application, instead of using a huge number of session
variables to store the user input, can we use XML? I want to save the XML
only at the end of the screen-input, till then is it possible to hold all
input data in the 'temporary' XML doc ?
