I'm very glad for that question. It is just what I'm working with every day.
Yesterday I loaded 10MB of XML documents into the database, and was
instantly able to query the documents, using Xpath queries.
I think that a native XML information server could be your solution.
If I may, I'd like to suggest Tamino, http://www.tamino.com which is
designed for cases just like yours.
