You can convert any html document into a xml document by adding this line to
the top of the document
<?xml version="1.0" ?> and saving that file as a .xml file. You can view it in
InternetExplorer 5 and above.
But this html file converted to xml does'nt have a lot of meaning , HTML is
more about presentation , XML is about content and data.
. XML files define structure of data using a Data Type Definitioin file DTD ,
this DTD file can be internal or external.
Just displaying a html file converted into xml in a browser does do any good.
As far as using JAVA for XML is concerned , you can use SAX parsers
which can be used to parse xml documents
I am enclosing a parser program that uses SAX parsing, parses a document
provided to it as a command line argument and
prints the output to the console

Subject: New in XML
I am a web-designer. Have a good knowledge of HTMl,DHTML,Java Script and CSS.
Now i want to have a knowledge of XML. Please guide me how to begin with it??? I
have gone thru a couple of tutorials but i am not able parse the xml file. I
want to know XML using java.
Basically i am facing problem in the end result. How to view that and secondly
how to convert existing html files to xml files?
Please guide me.
