>>>I would be interested in hearing from anyone who claims to be a Celt and
yet feels that their Celtic culture can exist independently from the
political sphere *or* who believes there is no need for a political stance
to be taken in support of their culture - such a person would be missing a
fundamental characteristic oft attributed to the Celt. Isn't that why we
make such good politicians/warriors etc?
Are celts really good politicians and warriors? It seems to me that a lot of
the history of the Roman empire in western Europe involves celts suing for
peace rather than fighting. A lot of Britons ran away from the Saxons too
and went to Brittany. Maybe they are not so good at fighting as they are
judging what is a lost cause. Or maybe the characteristics of a people
change over time.
