I'm a little behind in my mail...
Pittsburgh actually has a large population of Irish descent. I suppose
they went there to work in the steel mills. At any rate, my daughter is in
her last year at the University of Pittsburgh and I have it on good
authority that it is possible to have VERY wild nights in Pittsburgh.
On a gentle note, there are 3 very nice "Irish" shops in the city with
lovely stuff to buy. I get imported jewelry for all special occasions. On
the wild night side....one night when she was having a spectacularly wild
night, she decided to celebrate her Irish ancestry in a tattoo shop. She
has a 4" X 2" "beautiful" Celtic knot tattooed on the small of her back.
Since she has a 23" waist, it looks a lot like a placemat on her. It's
quite an accessory to her bikinis. Mom could have done without that wild
night. Perhaps things have livened up a bit since your grad school days.
