Thanks to the two people who responded to my query about Druid honor
markings and woad. I guess I assumed the blue dye would be created from a
plant; woad isn't a very attractive word (to my thinking) and it didn't
occur to me there might be a "woad" plant. Sounds like mixing the dye
properly is a bit of a guessing game. I wonder how long it lasts...
But, no one answered my query re: the honor markings. Is this fact or
fiction? As I understand it, the Druids left few to zero written records,
so don't know what the source would be re: the honor markings. But, I'm
curious. I'd like to know what they looked like if they're real. I've
finally finished the book and the Druid characters received new and
different tattoos as they progressed through training. It almost sounded
as though they could end up tattooed from one end to the other if they
lived long enough. But, I just really want to know about the finger nail
tattoos.......and if there is any substantive proof this is factual.
