Just a small addition to the topic -- isn't it funny that they haven't
palled an extra space for apostrophe in Unicode (AFAIR)? It's still the
single quote which has to act as it. It may be of a similar shape "by
coincidence" but surely has a different semantics... And, as we see here,
also the finesses may differ.
It's a bit similar to my kreska/acute case. But while it's possible to
make language-dependent OpenType substitutions for Polish kreska in place
of the acute, creating a similar solution for single quote/apostrophe
seems much more difficult...
